About my paintings and prints
I paint with materials that I expect will long outlive me and my prints are made using paper and ink that should rival the original. Currently, I paint on 140 lb. Arches paper - cold-pressed, mould-made paper of the highest quality - with professional-grade paints, mostly Winsor & Newton. I create my prints on the same Arches 140 lb. watercolor paper I paint on, using Epson archival inks. I mat my work with double archival ragmats from Crescent.
Placing An Order
I've tried to make the online ordering process as straightforward as possible. Payment is through Paypal, allowing convenient, secure credit card purchases. If you prefer to order a painting, print or notecards using a more personal method, please email me to set up the purchase or make arrangements to talk on the phone. I'd also welcome any comments you have about my site or your shopping experience. I'm anxious to at least make this impersonal process as convenient as I can.
Accepted Forms of Payment
I accept checks, money orders or credit cards (through Paypal). I reserve the right to hold orders paid by check until the check clears. Your order will be shipped as soon after I receive confirmation of having received payment as possible.
Packaging and Shipping
Unless requested to do otherwise, I ship all domestic orders via either First Class or Priority Mail and international orders by the nearest equivalent service that the Post Office offers for the destination address. Since I live in a rural area, UPS and Fed-Ex are much less convenient than the Post Office for out-going packages. If the circumstances warrant it, I'm willing to accomodate special handling.
Included in the cost of all orders is a shipping charge to cover the cost of mailing the product by either First Class (as available), Parcel Post (where First Class isn't offered), or Priority Mail. Best available domestic rates (as of June, 2011) are as follows:
- Local pickup: free;
- $3.00: $.88 (or current First Class 1 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $3.01 - $9.99: $1.08 (or current First Class 2 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $10.00 - $15.00: $1.28 (or current First Class 3 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $15.01 - $20.00: $1.68 (or current First Class 5 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $20.01 - $50.00: $2.39 (or current First Class 7 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $50.01 - $99.99: $3.41 (or current First Class 13 oz. Large Envelope rate);
- $100.00 and up: $12.00; (Parcel Post)
Charges to Canada are as follows:
- $3.00: $.80 (or current First Class letter rate)
- $3.01 - $9.99: $1.08 (or current First Class 2 oz. rate);
- $10 - $15.00: $1.36 (or current First Class 3oz. rate);
- $15.01 - $20.00: $2.76 (or current First Class 5 oz. Small Packetsrate);
- $20.01 - $50.00: $4.56 (or current First Class 12 oz. Small Packets rate)
- $50.01 - $99.99: $8.95; (First Class Small Packets)
- $100.00 and up: $12.95; (First Class Small Packets)
Shipping charges are subject to change without notice. Any special handling or international orders other than to Canada must be arranged by email.
Naturally, I want to make sure that your purchase arrives in the condition I sent it in, so I will package it carefully and appropriately. Any print that arrives damaged will be replaced. All original artwork will be handled with the care that a one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable object deserves.
